As the 2024 calendar year draws to a close, it’s inspiring to reflect on another year of success for the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. Our faculty and students have earned well-deserved international and national recognition for their exceptional achievements, exemplifying the school’s commitment to excellence.
Our faculty-led research program is flourishing, with total research expenditures exceeding $6 million in FY 2023-2024, averaging $370,000 per tenured/tenure-track faculty member. With this success, the Voiland School has welcomed new members to our team. Lourana Swayne has joined as our new administration manager, bringing invaluable support to our operations. Additionally, our faculty ranks have expanded with the arrival of Dr. Wheaton Schroeder, who will lead the computational metabolic engineering research, addressing critical challenges in energy, environment, and health. These milestones are a testament to the continued growth and impact of the Voiland School, fueled by the support of the collective efforts of our dedicated faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Voiland School is addressing critical challenges in the energy, environment, and health sectors through our student-centered education, innovative research, and dedicated service. We are deeply proud of and thankful for our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, whose dedication and contributions have propelled significant advancements in these essential fields. As we look ahead to the opportunities the coming year holds, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you for being an integral part of our vibrant Voiland School community.
