Computer Requirement

Effective Fall semester, 2011, all Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering undergraduate and graduate students are required to either purchase or have access to a laptop computer capable of running modern office productivity software (Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, or Google Documents) and Remote Desktop Connection. At a minimum, the systems should therefore meet the following specifications:

Operating System

  • Windows 11

Processor Architecture

  • Intel Core i5 or i7, gen. 7 or newer
  • Equivalent AMD processor

Memory

  • Minimum 12 GB of RAM

Hard Drive

  • 500 GB or better
  • SSD Preferred

Software

Student Computer Discounts

  • Apple – Up to 15% discount
  • Microsoft – Save 10% or more
